What you'd actually do

  1. Negotiate and close a variety of commercial agreements and ancillary documents to support customer sales and partner engagements across India and South East Asia.
  2. Lead negotiations with Indian customers across all regions, as well as South East Asia customers, including from regulated sectors like BFSI.
  3. Deliver practical and decisive legal guidance to internal business teams, exercising sound judgment on risk trade-offs and escalation decisions, functioning as a trusted advisor who translates business needs into contractual commitments and actionable legal advice.
  4. Coach sales team members on negotiation strategies for Indian and SEA customers, including delivery of regular internal training sessions and office hours.
  5. Support the ongoing improvement of contract templates, playbooks, and processes in line with emerging laws and regulations in India and SEA.

Skills

Required

  • Qualified attorney with at least 8 years' commercial transactional experience
  • Experience negotiating SaaS contracts
  • Experience with privacy, security, intellectual property, and AI
  • Experience negotiating with Indian customers
  • Experience navigating regulatory landscapes in India and SEA
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong judgment and ability to balance legal risk with business objectives

Nice to have

  • Fluent in English
  • Conversational Hindi
  • Proficiency in another South East Asian language
  • Experience in BFSI sector
