Seeking a Senior Community Manager to build and lead Duolingo's community function from scratch. This role involves owning day-to-day engagement across community channels, cultivating relationships with learners, moderators, and superfans, and ensuring safety, trust, and belonging. The position requires a strategic, hands-on operator with experience in community management for consumer-facing brands, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manage our core community channels (e.g., Reddit, Discord) and drive daily engagement, conversation quality, and member experience
  2. Build and maintain strong relationships with moderators, ambassadors, and superfans
  3. Develop scalable processes, playbooks, and frameworks that uphold safety, trust, delight, and Duolingo’s signature tone
  4. Monitor community health, sentiment, and emerging risks, identifying insights and opportunities for continuous improvement
  5. Launch initiatives that grow participation, sentiment, and long-term community value
