Seeking an experienced attorney to provide legal support for Autodesk's Enterprise Systems and Experience (ESE) organization, focusing on global enterprise technology, complex transactions, and internal product counseling. The role involves advising on product development, AI/ML, data-related issues, and technology contracts, acting as a legal business partner to enable the delivery of state-of-the-art technology and data platforms.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as a legal business partner supporting development and delivery of enterprise systems, internal platforms, and employee productivity and collaboration tools worldwide. Work independently to provide practical legal advice that balances risk and enables achievement of business objectives in alignment with legal requirements and industry best practices
  2. Independently draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts with technology vendors, consultants, service providers, and other third parties including in-bound technology and SaaS contracts, AI technology and services, and consulting agreements. Manage full life cycle of complex technology contracts and appropriately escalate potential issues and disputes. Partner with business and technical stakeholders to support rollout and implementation of technology services enterprise-wide
  3. Proactively engage with technical teams and develop trusted advisor relationships with ESE team members. Collaborate with legal department staff supporting ESE to develop and deliver trainings for technical teams and business counterparts. Partner with other legal department staff in a highly matrixed environment, involving subject matter experts in IP, privacy, trust, compliance, and procurement to promote consistency and best practices
  4. Stay updated on company policies and procedures, relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Identify potential legal risks and propose risk mitigation strategies to enable ESE to deliver innovative and state-of-the-art technology, data, and platforms to optimize employee experiences, productivity, and collaboration

Skills

Required

  • 10+ years of experience
  • Law degree from a recognized university, with excellent academic credentials and active Bar membership in good standing
  • Experience supporting technical teams as product counsel, providing practical and creative legal support to enable development and launch of internal tools or enterprise technology
  • Experience advising technical stakeholders on legal issues including AI/ML, IP, data, security, privacy, trust, and regulatory compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and build trusted advisor relationships with stakeholders at all levels, ranging from senior leadership to individual contributors
  • Demonstrated track record of developing strategies to mitigate risk while enabling delivery of innovative technology services and solutions
  • Track record of negotiating and closing complex technology and commercial contracts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to provide clear, concise, and practical legal advice
