This role is within Microsoft's Corporate Strategy Team, advising the CEO and executive leadership on long-term strategic direction, growth, and decision-making across the company's portfolio. The role involves conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis on high-priority strategic issues, including M&A evaluation, market assessments, and new initiative ideation. It requires developing analytical rigor, spotting strategic opportunities, and communicating findings to senior executives.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and deliver divisional level analysis, options, execution plans, and recommendations based on analytical rigor, logic, and subject matter expertise
  2. Proactively spot strategic opportunities missed by others and plot insightful approaches to address them
  3. Investigates and provides an analysis of competitors, partners, business models, market sizing, and industry trends.
  4. Conducts market-based research by identifying and gathering information (e.g., financial statements, reports, analyses, stakeholder feedback, expert calls); interprets information with guidance from senior colleagues as needed, including researching existing business and identifying new spaces for Microsoft; conducts analyses (e.g., financial modeling) to validate proposed ideas and inform business decisions.
  5. Produce high-quality executive communications and arguments to facilitate senior discussions and decision making

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Liberal Arts, Computer Science, or related field
  • 1+ year(s) marketing, strategy, business planning, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience

Nice to have

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • 3+ years marketing, strategy, business planning, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Liberal Arts, Computer Science, or related field
