Senior Cpu Design Engineer

NVIDIA NVIDIA · Semiconductors · Hillsboro, OR +5 · Remote

NVIDIA is seeking experienced Senior CPU Design Engineers to design high-performance, low-power CPUs. Responsibilities include micro-architecture definition, RTL implementation, logic design optimization, and supporting hardware engineering activities. Requires 8+ years of experience in micro-architecture and RTL development, proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog, and scripting languages.

What you'd actually do

  1. Drive the micro-architecture definition, feasibility studies and documentation of CPU sub-systems.
  2. Implement in RTL and coordinate execution with the verification team to ensure that the design is functional.
  3. Exercise logic design skills to optimize and meet performance, timing and power targets.
  4. Deliver a synthesis/timing clean design while working with the physical design team ensuring a routable and physically implementable design.
  5. Support hardware engineering activities including chip floor plan, power/clock distribution, chip assembly, timing closure, power and noise analysis, and back-end verification.
