Senior Systems Security (Cybersecurity) Engineer responsible for developing solutions to secure Warfighter technology advantage, including RMF documents, controls validation testing for ATO accreditations, and implementing security improvements. Requires active Secret security clearance and STEM degree with 5+ years of experience or advanced degree with 3+ years.

What you'd actually do

  1. You will support the development of RMF documents and controls validation testing for Authority to Operate (ATO) accreditations.
  2. You will ensure proposed system changes are reviewed and implemented system modifications do not adversely affect the security of the system.
  3. You will implement security improvements by assessing the current situation; evaluating trends; and anticipating requirements.
  4. You will support the development of cybersecurity requirements, design and architecture artifacts, plans, and policies.
  5. You will perform analysis on cybersecurity collected data and test results.

Skills

Required

  • STEM degree or advanced degree
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience (or 3 years with advanced degree)
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Knowledge in STIG and RMF
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering requirements, specifications
  • Experience implementing DoD and Federal IA Certification and Accreditation Processes
  • Experience developing and maintaining associated certification and accreditation documentation
  • Utilize vulnerability scanning tools (Tenable Security Center, STIG Viewer, SCAP Compliance Checker/Tools)
  • Familiar with Linux Commands

Nice to have

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued DoD TOP SECRET security clearance
  • DoDI 8570.01-M IAT Level-II Compliant Certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or equivalent)
  • Previous experience with Program Protection Plans (PPP) DoDI 5000.02 and DoDI 5200.39
  • Experience with implementing highly technical solutions and reporting their importance to program managers and stakeholders
