Senior Data Analyst (project Hire/internal Assignment)

Disney Disney · Media · Lake Buena Vista, FL +2

This role analyzes data from computer vision platforms to improve operational efficiency and safety. It involves evaluating data pipelines, understanding system accuracy (false positives/negatives), translating complex metrics into actionable insights, and building predictive indicators. The role supports the end-to-end data pipeline, collaborates with engineering and data science teams, and communicates findings to leadership.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the analysis of data from computer vision platforms to identify patterns in behavior and spot emerging trends across a global portfolio
  2. Dig into false positives and false negatives to understand why the system is triggering (or not triggering) and provide clear feedback to technical teams to help tune the models
  3. Support the end-to-end data pipeline, ensuring that data flows correctly from the edge (cameras/sensors) through processing layers and into analytics dashboards
  4. Turn complex raw data into simple, actionable intelligence that leadership can use to make informed decisions
  5. Develop ways to spot warning signs in the data so our organization can move from reacting to events toward predicting and preventing them

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, project analysis, or a technical analytical role
  • Proven experience working with data generated by computer vision or machine learning models
  • Comfort working in a Linux environment, including experience with containers (Docker) and working with orchestration tools such as Kubernetes (K8s) in partnership with platform or engineering teams
  • Strong ability to look at a large set of data and find the story or trend inside it
  • Proficiency in data tools for visualization and analysis (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Python, or R)
  • Expert in Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, charts, and complex formulas, with strong SQL skills for working with large datasets.
  • Ability to independently analyze data and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Proven ability to create clear, visually compelling presentations and tailor messaging for global audiences, including navigating language barriers and working with diverse, cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience presenting complex findings to a range of audiences, including technical teams, operations leaders, and internal and external executives—effectively simplifying content for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to speak comfortably with both
  • Ability to manage your own time and priorities across time zones and competing demands
  • A high level of attention to detail—especially when dealing with data that drives critical operational decisions

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with the lifecycle of computer vision model deployment (training, tuning, and validation)
  • Experience with VBA & Macros in Excel is a plus
  • Previous experience in a project management capacity, specifically managing the delivery of technical insights
  • Experience building lead indicators (metrics that predict an event) rather than only lag indicators (metrics that report what has already happened)
