Senior Data Center Construction Manager

This role is for a Senior Data Center Construction Manager at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, focusing on building large-scale data centers that will support AI infrastructure. The role involves leading onsite construction activities, managing stakeholders, ensuring quality and safety, and coordinating various project phases from planning to closeout. While the data centers will support AI, the role itself is in construction management, not AI/ML development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead and support onsite construction activities managed by colocation providers, helping ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to Oracle quality standards.
  2. Develop, review, and maintain project schedules, milestone trackers, look-ahead plans, action logs, risk registers, and project documentation.
  3. Coordinate with colocation providers, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to support timely milestone delivery across construction, commissioning, and turnover phases.
  4. Support budget tracking, resource planning, change management, and field issue resolution to help maintain cost-effective project execution.
  5. Create, review, and maintain technical and project documentation, including design review comments, commissioning documentation, issue papers, meeting notes, action trackers, and problem-solving summaries.

Skills

Required

  • 11 years of experience in construction project management, construction management, project engineering, field engineering, owner’s representation, infrastructure delivery, or equivalent experience; OR Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field and 7 years of experience in construction project management, construction management, project engineering, field engineering, owner’s representation, infrastructure delivery, or equivalent experience; OR Master’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field and 5 years of relevant experience; OR Doctorate in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field and 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting complex construction projects with multiple stakeholders, contractors, disciplines, schedules, and delivery risks.
  • Experience with construction execution, schedule coordination, quality assurance, design coordination, change management, commissioning, turnover, or closeout processes.
  • Ability to work onsite full time in Saline, MI.
  • Strong communication skills
