Senior Data Center Technician

This role provides IT support for data center infrastructure, including secure access workstations, servers, and A/V equipment. Responsibilities include maintaining inventory, installing updates and OS, troubleshooting hardware issues, performing component replacements, and supporting the deployment of physical infrastructure like servers and SANs. The role also involves managing SAW inventory and assisting with shipping/receiving.

What you'd actually do

  1. Providing Senior Data center Technician-level support when needed. Responsibilities include performing power cycles, swap out failed components, handling storage media, and perform troubleshooting when needed. Also, performing cable installations, hardware rack / stack installations, testing, and troubleshooting using standard data center processes.
  2. Supporting the deployment of on-site DC physical infrastructure including Servers, NetDevices, SANs, Windows Server OS Support, Parts/Component replacement and physical hardware troubleshooting when needed.
  3. Ensuring SAW devices are in a “healthy” state, meeting Security’s compliance standard.
  4. Managing SAW inventory, including ordering, receiving, assigning/re-assigning, and decommissioning devices.
  5. Providing guidance to users for common SAW repair issues and escalating issues experienced by users.

Skills

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Extensive experience supporting IT equipment or related technology
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements

Nice to have

  • Technical College degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, or equivalent work experience
  • Applicable certifications: CompTIA, Microsoft, Network Certifications
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Microsoft Power Automate, Power BI) and basic coding to support process automation
  • Experience operating heavy-load movement equipment (pallet jacks, chassis lifts, etc.)
  • Perform and execute organization’s safety programs and policies, and compliance knowledge
  • Flexibility to work non-business hours (shifts) that may include weekends and/or holidays
  • Valid license to drive standard street-legal automatic transmission vehicles
