Senior Data Centre Technician

This role is for a Senior Data Centre Technician responsible for the technical liaison between technology teams and the data centre environment. The technician will troubleshoot infrastructure issues, maintain documentation, and improve current processes with an aim towards automation. Key responsibilities include ticket management, hardware/software support, escalated technical support, and maintaining adherence to processes. A background in Linux and knowledge of the data centre ecosystem are required, along with Australian citizenship and NV1 clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Review and action incoming and open tickets, prioritising work based on ticket severity.
  2. Participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimisation of all production server hardware and software.
  3. Provide escalated second-level technical support for complex issues, which may include leading problem management cases and providing management updates.
  4. Create and maintain documentation on the technologies you support.
  5. You will be expected to improve current processes and introduce automation with an aim towards simplification.
