Senior Data Engineer – Hardware & Supply Chain

Oura Oura · Consumer · San Francisco, CA +1 · Data Engineering & Analytics

Senior Data Engineer focused on building data infrastructure for Oura's hardware manufacturing operations, including production yield, device traceability, quality metrics, and supply chain data. The role involves designing and maintaining data pipelines, building data models, integrating data from various manufacturing systems, and ensuring data quality and reliability. There's also an expectation for growth into adjacent areas like quality testing analytics and firmware data.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, build, and maintain data pipelines that ingest and process manufacturing data from Oura's hardware production processes — including device yield, assembly, traceability, and supply chain events.
  2. Build data models that give Operations, Hardware, and Supply Chain teams reliable, timely visibility into production performance and supply health.
  3. Integrate data from manufacturing execution systems (MES), ERP/supply chain platforms, and factory data sources into Oura's lakehouse.
  4. Own end-to-end data quality and reliability for Hardware/SC data — from factory ingestion to analytics-ready tables.
  5. Partner closely with Hardware Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams to understand data needs and deliver scalable data products.

  • Ability to model manufacturing data: production lots, device traceability, yield events, and supply chain transactions
  • Experience running production data systems on AWS or equivalent cloud
  • Self-motivated, pragmatic, and able to manage your own work in a distributed team
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Hardware and Operations stakeholders who may not have a data background

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with hardware manufacturing data at a consumer electronics or IoT company
  • Experience with device traceability, serialized manufacturing, or supply chain event modeling
  • Familiarity with Databricks, Apache Iceberg, or dbt
  • Exposure to Quality Testing data systems or firmware/device telemetry data
