Senior Data Engineer focused on building and maintaining data pipelines for membership data, unifying subscriber data from multiple sources into a single source of truth. The role involves data governance, quality, and integration with billing, CRM, and app engagement data. Potential to expand into marketing or e-commerce data engineering.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, build, and maintain data pipelines that ingest, harmonize, and model Oura's membership data from multiple source systems into a unified, production-grade data layer.
  2. Partner with the Membership Data Analyst, Marketing, Product, and Finance teams to define data requirements and deliver reliable membership data products.
  3. Own end-to-end data quality and reliability for the membership data domain — from raw ingestion to analytics-ready tables.
  4. Integrate subscription billing, CRM, and app engagement data into a coherent Membership data model.
  5. Apply data governance practices: data lineage, documentation, access controls, and metric validation.

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, building and operating production pipelines.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills with a track record of reliable pipeline development.
  • Experience integrating data from subscription billing, CRM, or marketing platforms (Stripe, Braze, Salesforce, Shopify, or similar).
  • Familiarity with modern data stack tooling: dbt, Databricks, Spark, Airflow, or equivalent.
  • Good understanding of subscription data models: subscriber lifecycle, events, billing, cancellations.
  • Experience running and monitoring production systems on AWS or equivalent cloud.
  • Self-motivated, pragmatic, and able to manage your own work in a distributed team.

Nice to have

  • Experience building data infrastructure for a consumer subscription or membership business.
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures and stream processing for subscription event data.
  • Experience with Data Mesh and domain-oriented data ownership.
  • Exposure to Marketing or E-commerce data engineering.
