Senior Design and Integration Engineer, Cloud Tpu

Google Google · Big Tech · Sunnyvale, CA +1

This role focuses on the design and integration of Google's Tensor Processing Units (TPUs), which are custom-designed accelerators for AI and machine learning workloads. The engineer will be responsible for microarchitecture, design, implementation, and integration of digital logic blocks within the TPU, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize for performance, power, and area. The role involves defining microarchitecture, debugging RTL, leading power optimization, supporting post-silicon validation, and enhancing design tools and methodologies.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define and document the microarchitecture for digital designs within the TPU.
  2. Partner with Verification to develop test plans and debug RTL, and collaborate with Physical Design to achieve timing, area, power, and manufacturability goals.
  3. Drive critical power optimization and automation initiatives across all on-chip-network components and subsystems.
  4. Support post-silicon validation and hardware debugging efforts to ensure successful deployment.
  5. Lead the development and enhancement of internal design tools, flows, and engineering methodologies.
