Senior Design Engineer role focused on designing and packaging core engine components, including lubrication and cooling systems, major castings, and rotating components. The role involves working with global teams, suppliers, and customers to meet requirements, resolve complex issues, and manage project deliverables. Responsibilities include FMEA generation, design reviews, and developing technical data for production.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design and packaging of a variety of core engine components:
  2. Working in a multi-disciplined global team to ensure solutions meet customer, durability and functional requirements
  3. Developing strong relationships with suppliers to ensure design solutions are aligned to high quality and cost expectations
  4. Developing solutions for complex issues arising from the Quality and Manufacturing environments
  5. Support field and production issues, determine root cause, put in place containment actions, and develop permanent corrective actions

  • Expert level of expertise in complex CAD geometry using CREO10
  • A sound understanding of the requirements of core engine systems such as Rotating Systems, Valvetrain, Lubrication, Breather and Cooling systems, Bolted joint and sealing experience
  • Strong understanding of casting and machining processes related to casting of complex cast iron components
  • Conducting risk assessment through effective FMEA generation on components and systems to identify and address design risks and determine validation needs.
