Senior Digital Radar Onsite

RTX RTX · Aerospace · huntsville, AL +1 · Engineering

Senior Systems Engineer to support Digital Radar test activities, including radar performance analysis and Flight Test pre and post mission activities. Responsibilities include planning and executing radar test events, performing radar data analyses, and developing verification strategies for advanced radar capabilities and software builds. The role involves utilizing radar-domain expertise to evaluate system functionality, assess algorithm and software performance, and troubleshoot anomalies.

What you'd actually do

  1. Generate, run, and interpret modeling and simulation scenarios to predict radar performance, validate algorithm updates, and compare modeled results to Flight Test truth data and measured radar outputs.
  2. Support real‑time and near‑real‑time field analysis during test events by providing reach‑back to development teams, interpreting data products onsite, validating sensor behavior, and advising mission leadership on radar system status and performance.
  3. Collaborate with group leads, cross-discipline engineers, program leadership, and government stakeholders to define analysis objectives, prioritize data sets, and communicate findings.
  4. Produce technically rigorous analysis reports, performance assessments, test‑event summaries, and presentation materials suitable for internal reviews as well as external customer briefings.
  5. Contribute to technical reviews such as peer reviews, gate reviews, verification events, and test readiness reviews, ensuring analytical rigor and alignment with program objectives.
