This role provides executive leadership for the strategy, delivery, and evolution of enterprise HR application platforms supporting a global workforce. The Sr. Director partners closely with HR, IT, and business leaders to ensure HR technology enables business growth, compliance, workforce insights, and an exceptional employee experience. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of technology, people strategy, and enterprise transformation, with direct influence on how DePuy Synthes scales and operates as a standalone organization.

What you'd actually do

  1. Set and execute the global strategy and roadmap for HR enterprise applications, (including: WorkDay, CSOD, AON, Alight, Fidelity, etc.) ensuring alignment with business priorities and HR transformation objectives.
  2. Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of HR systems (e.g., core HCM, talent management, recruiting, learning, Global Health Services, Total Rewards, Compensation and workforce analytics).
  3. Serve as a strategic partner to HR leadership, translating functional needs into scalable, secure, and compliant technology solutions.
  4. Oversee vendor selection, contract management, and system integrators, ensuring performance, cost effectiveness, and value realization.
  5. Ensure HR applications meet data privacy, security, regulatory, and audit requirements across geographies.

Skills

Required

  • 12-14 years of progressive experience in IT or enterprise applications leadership, with significant focus on HR applications at a global scale.
  • Proven experience leading large, complex HR technology portfolios in a matrixed, global organization.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes and systems, including HCM, talent management, and learning platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with senior business and HR leaders to deliver strategic outcomes.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendors, and external partners for enterprise-scale solutions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and change-management capabilities.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting organizational transformations, separations, or large-scale system modernizations.
  • Background in cloud-based HR platforms and global deployments.
  • Experience in regulated or highly matrixed environments.
  • Demonstrated success building and leading diverse, global teams.
  • Additional languages are a plus.
  • HRIS, enterprise systems, or IT leadership certifications
