Senior Director, Compensation

This role is for a Senior Director of Compensation within MongoDB's People team. The primary focus is on optimizing and scaling global compensation programs, including strategy, design, and implementation, to attract, reward, and retain talent. The role involves advising senior leaders, managing compensation initiatives, and leading a team of compensation partners. While MongoDB is an AI company, this role is in HR/People Operations and does not directly involve building or shipping AI/ML models.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define and evolve global compensation strategy aligned with business goals, growth stage, and talent needs
  2. Lead the design and evolution of global compensation philosophy, ensuring alignment with company strategy, talent needs, and market competitiveness
  3. Drive complex, cross-functional compensation initiatives from concept through implementation, acting as DRI and accountable owner for outcomes, timelines, and quality
  4. Lead and develop a global team of Compensation Partners supporting multiple business units
  5. Advise on hiring offers, promotions, retention, and organizational changes, especially for critical technical roles
