Senior Director of Engineering to lead teams developing core AI compiler technology, including graph and kernel compilers, intermediate representations, and agentic coding harnesses, to optimize AI workloads on NVIDIA systems. The role involves technical leadership, mentorship, roadmap development, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

What you'd actually do

  1. Providing supervisory mentorship and technical direction to a geographically distributed team of AI compiler and system software development engineers, including planning, scheduling and execution of projects and activities.
  2. Guiding the design and implementation of the NVIDIA’s compiler stack
  3. Championing NVIDIA engagement with AI systems open source communities
  4. Serving as a trusted steward of compiler product offerings, interacting with product managers, key customers and ISVs to ensure responsiveness to critical needs.
  5. Developing and executing on a roadmap that delivers innovative optimization techniques that are efficient and enhance AI performance on NVIDIA systems, and enables effective use of key hardware capabilities.

Skills

Required

  • MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 16+ overall years of research and technology development
  • 10+ years of technical lead/management experience
  • Experience in developing production compilers or related software and have collaborated on the development of large code bases.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • A team player with proven leadership and mentorship skills
  • Demonstrated track record of success in achieving objectives under tight deadlines and have led projects with consequential priorities.
  • Strong background in AI compilers and systems software, with a track record in collaboration with academia and open source communities
  • Familiar with parallel programming paradigms and hardware accelerators.

Nice to have

  • Track-record of success as a technical manager/ leader
  • Proficiency in the CUDA programming languages plus familiarity with deep learning frameworks and NVIDIA GPUs.
  • Experience with compiler development for parallel programming languages targeting hardware accelerators.
