Senior Director, Custom Silicon Supply Planning

Microsoft Microsoft · Big Tech · Redmond, WA +1 · Supply Planning

This role is for a Senior Director of Custom Silicon Supply Planning within Microsoft's Cloud Supply Chain organization. The primary focus is on leading the integrated supply planning strategy and execution for custom and semi-custom silicon programs, translating long-range demand signals into capacity-constrained supply plans, and building a silicon supply planning center of excellence. The role involves significant cross-functional collaboration with various teams including Capacity Planning, Sourcing, Engineering, Finance, and external ecosystem partners. It also requires co-ownership of multi-year supply and capital investment strategies, risk management, and operational excellence in a high-growth, ambiguous environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own the integrated supply planning strategy and execution across all custom and semi-custom silicon programs (Maia, Cobalt, and future designs).
  2. Translate long-range demand signals (3 to 5+ years) into portfolio-level, capacity-constrained supply plans aligned with semiconductor industry realities.
  3. Lead and scale an organization of supply planning leaders and planners, establishing clear accountability and development pathways.
  4. Partner with Capacity Planning to align silicon supply with Microsoft’s global rack deployment strategy (timing, volume, and regionalization).
  5. Co-own the multi-year supply and capital investment strategy, including wafer capacity reservations, long-lead material commitments, and infrastructure scaling.
