Senior Director, Risk Management for Capital One Canada's Card Risk Office. This role leads a team responsible for supporting new and emerging business strategies, critical business processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations and internal policies. It involves identifying and assessing risks, promoting a culture of risk awareness, overseeing control testing and risk event management, and partnering with business and second-line defense teams to monitor the regulatory environment. The role requires strong collaboration with various leaders, Legal, Compliance, and enterprise partners.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support the Canada Business with identifying and managing the risks inherent in the business activities, products, processes.
  2. Support the Principal Officer and the Canada Senior Leadership Team (“SLT”) in promoting a culture of risk awareness, clear risk ownership within the business, and personal accountability.
  3. Oversight of the control testing team, ensuring governance processes in alignment with the COSO framework and continuous improvement as needed.
  4. Oversight of the risk event management process, ensuring timely identification and escalation of issues and control deficiencies.
  5. Review and recommend updates to compliance and risk management policies, processes, procedures, controls, metrics to adapt to changes within the industry and in the Branch’s risk appetite.
