Senior Director of Software Engineering to lead a team of 50-70 engineers focused on software delivery experience tools, cloud governance, and well-managed experiences. The role involves working with senior executives, translating vision into execution strategy, guiding teams on design and delivery of high-quality software on AWS, collaborating with stakeholders, providing technology thought leadership, and raising the talent bar through recruiting. Responsibilities include leading teams, supporting recruiting, providing thought leadership, encouraging innovation, ensuring craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability, managing relationships with US Tech leaders, staying on top of tech trends, leading deployments to AWS, and supporting continuous improvement and shift-left activities.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead and inspire a team of 50-70 high-quality software engineers
  2. Support an aggressive recruiting agenda to assess and staff a large (100+ person) high-quality software engineering organization
  3. Provide thought leadership and guidance to our software engineers, and our product partners, with a focus on the software delivery experience, cloud and risk engineering and well managed
  4. Encourage innovation, cutting-edge technologies, and out-of-the-box thinking
  5. Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 15 years’ experience in a technical role
  • 5 years of executive technology leadership experience
  • 5 years of experience driving architecture and engineering excellence at enterprise scale
  • 5 years of experience with public cloud technologies
  • Fluent in Spanish and English

Nice to have

  • Master’s Degree in STEM
  • 7+ years of experience with cloud architecture, cloud computing, data technologies, DevOps technologies, open-source integrations, and various software design architectural patterns
  • 4+ years of software engineering experience with a financial services, banking, or credit card company
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
