Senior Eda Tools Hardware Engineer

This role focuses on designing, implementing, and enabling next-generation hardware design tools, flows, and methodologies for advanced technology nodes at Intel. The engineer will analyze and optimize methodologies for power, performance, area, and efficiency, build platforms and scripts for design automation, and collaborate with EDA vendors to test and adopt new tools. The role requires experience in EDA tools, physical design, digital design, and verification.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, implement, and verify hardware design tools, flows, and methodologies for advanced technology nodes
  2. Develop unique hardware designs and integrate components into hierarchical systems for end-to-end EDA tool testing
  3. Analyze and optimize methodologies for improved power, performance, area, and efficiency in hardware development
  4. Build platforms, databases, scripts, and tool flows to enhance design automation capabilities
  5. Test and analyze engineering design automation tools to ensure reliability, functionality, and quality

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or in a STEM related field
  • 7+ years of experience in hardware design and development with a Bachelor's degree, OR 5+ years of experience with a Master's degree, OR 3+ years of experience with a PhD
  • Experience in EDA tools and methodologies, including debugging and problem-solving
  • Experience in physical design, optimization, and tools flows and methodology (TFM) development
  • Experience analyzing and improving software quality
  • Experience in digital design, verification, and structural layout
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Experience collaborating with external EDA vendors and industry leaders

  • Experience with power-performance optimization techniques and formal verification
