Senior Editor, Creative Lab

Google's Creative Lab is seeking a Senior Editor with a strong background in visual, design, written, and experiential acumen to develop and execute creative content plans and strategies for Google products and services across major media channels. The role involves working with cross-functional teams and vendor partners to generate concepts, prototype stories, and lead by example in developing breakthrough creative aligned with the Google Marketing brand. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a creative discipline and a portfolio showcasing diverse design experience.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and execute creative content plans and strategies that align with business objectives and audiences.
  2. Build relationships with internal and external resources, and attract and develop creative talent.
  3. Ensure alignment between creative and technical vision and processes, and initiate technical and creative changes for optimal story development.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience working in a creative discipline (e.g., writing, filmmaking, video editing, design, art direction, photography, etc.)
  • A portfolio of creative work displaying experience in (Brand, Interactive, Conceptual, Experiential, or Technology) design.

Nice to have

  • Experience working with standard production equipment– cameras, microphones, basic lighting, etc.
  • Familiarity with the process of film/commercial pre-production, and post-production – from script development, to editorial, to finishing prep.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI workflows and Google Workspace for collaborating with coworkers.
  • Ability to prototype stories using editing and animation techniques in a resourceful, often scrappy manner.
