SoFi is seeking a Senior Editor, Newsletters to produce and edit content for their flagship personal finance newsletter, On the Money, and future newsletters. The role involves writing, editing, fact-checking, assigning stories, and collaborating with various teams. The ideal candidate is a skilled journalist with experience in personal finance news and editorial judgment. The role will leverage AI responsibly and creatively to drive story development and enhance workflow.

What you'd actually do

  1. Edit stories: Support our small but mighty team of writers at every stage (i.e. fact-checking, making structural suggestions, getting into the weeds of a line edit).
  2. Assign stories: Help identify newsworthy trends and topics, creating assignment briefs and keeping track of the editorial calendar.
  3. Write stories: Develop expertise on the fly, researching a topic to deliver accurate, polished copy. You will have an opportunity to leverage AI responsibly and creatively to drive story development and accelerate and enhance our workflow.
  4. Collaborate and cooperate: Putting out a newsletter is a team sport, and you will need to cultivate great relationships with writers, other editors, our compliance team, and cross-functional partners from across the organization. Good news: They’re all great!
