Senior Electrical Engineer, Drones

Anduril Anduril · Defense · Costa Mesa, CA · Tactical Recon & Strike

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company developing advanced military capabilities, including AI-powered systems and autonomous drones. This Senior Electrical Engineer role focuses on designing, testing, and integrating embedded control electronics for these systems, from concept to production, with a strong emphasis on hardware selection, PCB design, and system-level integration. The role requires extensive experience with embedded systems and mixed-signal circuits, and involves troubleshooting across electrical and software boundaries in a fast-paced, defense-focused environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design embedded control electronics from concept to production, including hardware selection, schematic & PCB design, board bring-up, system-level integration, and flight test.
  2. Troubleshoot issues that span the electrical and software boundaries, with solid skills using both lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, DMM, etc.) and software debugging tools.
  3. Work closely with other electrical, mechanical, software, firmware, and test engineers to deliver fully functional products.
  4. Work in a fast-paced environment supporting new developments, active deployments, and customer operated hardware.

Skills

Required

  • Lab-based prototyping / research and development experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
  • 8+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex embedded systems and products
  • Demonstrated experience designing and integrating mixed signal circuits
  • Competence with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers, current-probes, and automation of tests
  • Proficient with Altium Designer or equivalent electronic design automation design tools

Nice to have

  • Proficiency with embedded software and firmware (C/Linux is a plus)
  • Familiarity with software development processes and tools such as git, Github, JIRA, etc.
  • Experience with developing for a safety-critical environment (human in the loop)
