Anduril Industries is a defense technology company seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in EMI/EMC to lead design initiatives for their products. The role involves evaluating high-speed digital, analog, RF, and high-power designs for electromagnetic compatibility, using simulation tools, integrating EMI/EMC considerations into product design, and ensuring compliance with military and avionics standards. The engineer will also drive product maturity through prototyping and testing, troubleshoot performance issues, and define design guidelines. This role requires 8+ years of experience in EMI/EMC design, knowledge of test equipment and PCB layout techniques, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. A U.S. Secret security clearance is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Evaluation of high-speed digital, precision analog, RF, and high-power designs for EMI/EMC compliance.
  2. Use EMC simulation tools to predict and analyze electromagnetic performance of electronic systems.
  3. Work with cross-functional teams to integrate EMI/EMC considerations into product design.
  4. Drive product maturity through rapid prototyping, design verification, and qualification activities.
  5. Apply modern design standards and guidelines to create high-reliability, highly manufacturable assemblies.

Skills

Required

  • 8+ years of professional experience in designing hardware products for EMI/EMC compliance.
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC Test Equipment such as spectrum analyzers, antennas, LISN etc.
  • Full understanding of PCB Layout techniques to meet mechanical, electrical, EMI/EMC, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Strong mathematical background with ability to drive EMI/EMC simulation tools to generate system performance models
  • Identify program EMI/EMC risks and define strategies for reducing risk through the definition of modeling, simulation, or experimental activities.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and apply best practices appropriate for each design.
  • Familiarity with standard interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB, etc.
  • Familiarity with common MCU, CPU, FPGA devices and technologies.
  • Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits.
  • Ability to determine work priorities based on broad direction from management.
  • Experience using Altium Designer or equivalent E-CAD tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with others.
  • Ability to work within our company and team culture.
  • Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Nice to have

  • Full understanding of MIL-STD-461 and relevant military electromagnetic compatibility standards.
