Senior Electrical Test Engineer to lead the development and execution of electrical test strategies for autonomous vehicle and subsystem programs. Responsibilities include architecting test plans, developing automated test equipment (ATE), and cross-functional collaboration to ensure electrical designs are validated. Requires 7+ years of experience in electrical validation and hardware verification, with proficiency in test automation software and lab instrumentation. Experience in robotics or autonomous systems is preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and own comprehensive test plans in accordance with the engineering design process (requirements → design → verification → validation → release).
  2. Translate system and subsystem requirements into structured verification matrices and executable test procedures.
  3. Lead electrical verification efforts at board, subsystem, and system levels.
  4. Design and execute functional, environmental, regression, reliability, and stress testing.
  5. Drive root cause analysis for electrical failures and implement corrective validation strategies.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical test engineering or hardware validation
  • Strong understanding of the engineering design lifecycle and formal verification processes
  • Hands-on experience developing automated test equipment and fixtures
  • Proficiency with electrical lab instrumentation and measurement techniques
  • Experience writing test automation software (Python, LabVIEW, C/C++, or similar)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across analog, digital, power, and mixed-signal systems
  • Experience working in cross-functional hardware development environments

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience in robotics, autonomous systems, defense, maritime, or ruggedized platforms
  • Familiarity with high-voltage power systems and battery integration
  • Experience with EMI/EMC testing and environmental qualification
  • Knowledge of manufacturing test and DFM/DFT principles
