We are now looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team in Uppsala, developing PET cyclotron and radiochemistry systems.

In this role, you will work with complex, high-precision electronic systems with demanding requirements on robustness, reliability, and long operational lifetime. The role combines hands-on PCB design and product lifecycle ownership with a broader responsibility across the electronics domain, including control systems and power supply design.

As a senior engineer, you are expected to take technical ownership, drive design decisions, and actively contribute to the development of engineering practices and team competence.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Specifications & Technical Documentation Define, review, and maintain design specifications within your area of responsibility. Ensure clarity, quality, and alignment with system requirements, architecture and long-term product needs.
  • Technical Ownership of Electronic Designs Lead design and development of electronic solutions, with a strong focus on schematic design and PCB layout. Ensure high quality, robustness, and manufacturability.
  • System-Level Design Contribution Drive and contribute to system-level design decisions across control systems and power supply solutions, ensuring proper integration and performance.
  • Product Lifecycle & Obsolescence Strategy Own and drive redesign activities related to component changes. Make proactive design decisions that ensure long product lifetimes (20+ years).
  • Testing, Validation & Problem Solving Define and execute test strategies, analyze complex issues, and drive resolution.
  • Technical Leadership & Knowledge Sharing Lead design reviews, support and guide less experienced engineers, and actively share knowledge and best practices within the team.
  • Cross-functional Leadership Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, sourcing, and manufacturing teams, as well as external suppliers. Influence technical direction across disciplines.

Required Qualifications:

  • Significant years of experience in electronics design and PCB development
  • Strong expertise in schematic design and PCB layout (Allegro / OrCAD or equivalent)
  • Experience working with complex electronic systems, including control and/or power-related designs
  • Proven ability to take technical ownership and drive design decisions
  • Experience across the full product lifecycle, including redesign and obsolescence management
  • Strong problem-solving skills in complex technical environments
  • Professional working proficiency in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience from high-reliability or regulated industries (e.g. medical, industrial)
  • Deep understanding of EMC design and compliance
  • Experience mentoring or coaching other engineers
  • Programming or scripting skills (e.g. Python, C/C++)
  • Experience in RF and/or power electronics (considered a plus)
  • Swedish language skills
