Senior Electronics Technician (onsite)

This role is for a Senior Electronics Technician at RTX (Collins Aerospace) who will construct, calibrate, adjust, test, maintain, and troubleshoot electronic equipment, components, devices, and systems. The technician will work from schematics and engineering drawings, set up and operate test equipment, analyze test data, and assist engineers with process development. The role requires U.S. citizenship and involves working with avionics for aerospace and defense applications.

What you'd actually do

  1. Constructs, calibrates, adjusts, tests, maintains and troubleshoots electronic equipment, components, devices and systems working from schematics, engineering drawings and/or written/verbal instructions.
  2. Sets up and operates standard or special test equipment.
  3. Utilizes predetermined methods, sequences and setups to inspect or test electronic equipment or products, recommends necessary modifications and adjustments to engineers.
  4. Analyzes, interprets and records test data for engineering prototype and/or first article electronic/mechanical equipment.
  5. Prepares reports, charts, graphs and schematics on developmental engineering equipment.

Skills

Required

  • HS Diploma or AA/AS degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Verification/Inspection experience with associated standards, processes, and documentation.

Nice to have

  • Debugging and testing power supply circuits at the component level
  • knowledge in the use of applicable test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power sources.
  • Experience building and inspecting test assemblies, fixtures, and cables
  • Completed Collins training for build and inspection processes.
  • Experience reading engineering drawings and using lookup tools.
  • Knowledge of soldering materials, fluxes, and equipment, with the ability to operate and maintain soldering tools effectively.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team environment
  • Willingness to learn and accept constructive feedback.
