This role focuses on managing energy programs for Microsoft's datacenters, which support the global AI economy. The Senior Energy Program Manager will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and delivering strategic energy projects, including interconnection strategy, energy supply development, commercial negotiations, and delivery execution within the EMEA region. The role requires deep understanding of European power markets and strong commercial and analytical capabilities.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead datacenter interconnection strategy and execution with utilities and third-party suppliers
  2. Own energy supply initiatives and commercial workstreams including contract negotiations
  3. Independently manage complex multi-stakeholder energy programs
  4. Analyze energy market trends, policy and regulation to reduce cost and mitigate risk
  5. Develop and lead business cases and commercial strategies

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree and working experience in energy, project management or business development OR equivalent experience
  • Deep understanding of European power markets (regulated and deregulated)
  • Experience working with utilities, DNOs or TNOs
  • Strong commercial and analytical capability across power markets and contracts
  • Experience negotiating contracts and delivering energy projects
  • Ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Growth mindset and strong problem-solving capability

Nice to have

  • Experience leading energy contract negotiations (PPA, utility agreements, lease energy structures, etc.)
  • Experience delivering energy strategies in hyperscale or digital infrastructure environments
  • Demonstrated track record of influencing outcomes across cross-functional and external stakeholder groups
