Workday is seeking a Senior Engagement Manager to lead high-impact Workday implementations, serving as the bridge between sales, delivery, and the C-suite. The role involves driving projects using Workday's Implementation Methodology, partnering with sales to shape engagements, mentoring professional services resources, leading executive steering committee meetings, and managing project scope and budgets. The ideal candidate will have experience in project managing ERP or business application systems within large enterprise clients and possess strong leadership, relationship-building, and conflict management skills.

What you'd actually do

  1. Drive the "Gold Standard": Become a certified expert in Workday’s Implementation Methodology, leveraging it to lead 1 to 2 large-sized projects simultaneously to successful "Go-Live."
  2. Influence the Deal: Partner with the Sales team to shape the future of our engagements. You’ll help gather requirements, formulate delivery approaches, and craft SOWs that set our teams up for success.
  3. Consultative Leadership: Act as a mentor to Professional Services resources, guiding them through technical hurdles and professional growth.
  4. Navigate the C-Suite: Lead Executive Steering Committee meetings, translating project milestones into business value for client stakeholders.
  5. Manage the Scope: Manage project scope and budgets with a firm but fair hand. You’ll identify risks early, resolve conflicts with client PMs, and execute change orders when the scope evolves.

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years experience project managing ERP or business application system within a large Enterprise client
  • Consulting experience either as an internal consultant or with a consulting/software company

Nice to have

  • Experience implementing Workday, Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft or similar applications
  • Passion and drive for customer success
  • Adept at conflict management; skilled in de-escalating project tensions and mediating between stakeholders to reach consensus
  • Leadership abilities to empower and focus the project team on deployment objectives
  • Strong at building relationships, working cross-functionally and can influence internal and external stakeholders.
