Senior Engagement Manager - Manufacturing

Salesforce is seeking a Senior Engagement Manager for their Manufacturing sector in Japan. This role involves leading large-scale transformation projects for key clients, acting as a trusted advisor, and collaborating with sales and professional services teams. The Engagement Manager will drive pre-sales and post-sales activities, provide expert insights, and directly oversee project teams to ensure customer success and satisfaction. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and project management skills, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions and achieving company goals.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the development of customer-specific implementation proposals, SOWs, and staffing plans, and gain consensus on acceptable proposals with other specialized members of the organization.
  2. Take responsibility for pre-sales activities such as scoping, solution creation, SOW creation, and project staffing in close collaboration with account and service sales teams.
  3. Provide expert insights on proposed solutions and customer needs to the professional services team, ensuring the success of projects.
  4. Directly monitor project teams throughout the engagement lifecycle and act as an escalation point for both customer teams and Salesforce delivery teams, as appropriate and necessary for customer success.
  5. Ensure engagements are completed to the satisfaction of customers who can become new potential customer references.

Skills

Required

  • 6+ years of consulting services delivery experience (including team leadership and active involvement in professional services sales)
  • 3+ years of pre-sales and scoping experience for large, complex implementation projects
  • 3+ years of enterprise-level project or program management experience
  • Technical and/or functional aptitude backed by hands-on experience, and the ability to engage in pre-sales activities in collaboration with architects or subject matter experts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with hands-on experience in executive-level interactions and customer advisory roles
  • Ability to influence group members, drive solution creation, and lead discussions on implementation methodologies, roadmap creation, enterprise transformation strategies, and executive-level requirements gathering sessions
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
