This role is for a Senior Engineer in Supply Chain Engineering, specifically Manufacturing Engineering, at Johnson & Johnson Vision Care. The primary focus is on providing technical guidance and support for sophisticated industrial systems including PLCs, Vision Systems, Robots, and HMIs. Responsibilities include leading troubleshooting, spearheading code and program modifications for control systems, managing change control projects, qualifying new equipment, and implementing project management methodologies. The role also involves technical design reviews, concept analysis for capital projects, training operations engineers, resolving quality and technical issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. A strong background in industrial control systems, electrical systems, safety engineering, and programming languages like Ladder Logic, Python, and Structured Text is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide expert technical guidance and support to operations by leading troubleshooting efforts for sophisticated systems, including PLCs, Vision Systems, Robots, Servers, and HMIs.
  2. Spearhead and oversee complex code and program modifications for advanced control systems, ensuring optimal performance and system integration.
  3. Plans and executes moderately complex change control projects requiring conceptual evaluation, design and validation.
  4. Identifies, plans and executes complex change control projects requiring conceptual evaluation, design and validation.
  5. Identifies, plans and executes complex qualification of new equipment/controls and assists in vendor and site acceptance testing to meet engineering standards.

Skills

Required

  • University/Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • 6 to 8 years of experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are required.
  • Ability to work in an empowered work team environment is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement complex code modifications for industrial control systems with minimal oversight, leveraging advanced programming skills to enhance system functionality and reliability.
  • Expertise in designing, analyzing, and optimizing electrical systems and circuits, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, while implementing innovative solutions to enhance system performance and efficiency.
  • Proven ability to assess and mitigate electrical hazards through the application of safety engineering principles, conducting thorough risk assessments, and developing comprehensive safety protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

  • Demonstrate extensive expertise and strategic insight into industrial control systems, such as Allen-Bradley and Siemens, including the ability to design and implement new solutions.
