Senior Engineer, Safety Risk Analyst (hybrid)

RTX RTX · Aerospace · aguadilla, Puerto Rico +1 · Engineering

This role focuses on safety risk analysis within the aerospace and defense industry, utilizing statistics, reliability, and risk forecasting methods. The engineer will create safety risk analyses, apply hazards to generate forecasts, and document methodologies according to regulatory requirements. Experience with Weibull analysis, Monte Carlo simulation, and programming languages like R or Python is preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Take full technical responsibility for communicating with internal customer to achieve the best possible safety risk analysis (SRA) with the data available.
  2. Provide input to optimize product safety mitigation implementation, including specialized burndown plans to account for nonstandard scenarios.
  3. Participate at Collins Risk Analysis and Statistical Methods community of practice (CoP).
  4. Support the Product Safety Managers (PSM) as needed with participation and support at the Product Safety Integrity Team (PSIT) and Product Safety Board (PSB).
  5. Support development of strategic roadmap for SMS safety risk management pillar.
