Senior Engineer - Structural Engineering role focused on performing ANSYS finite element analysis for stress, vibration, fatigue life, and fracture mechanics prediction for commercial engine components. Responsibilities include providing production and field support, aftermarket support for MRO services, and participating in cross-discipline product teams. Requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with significant relevant experience.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform state-of-the-art ANSYS finite element analysis for stress, vibration, determination of low cycle fatigue life and residual life (fracture mechanics) prediction.
  2. Stress and life changes after repairs and in-service field investigations.
  3. Participate as an active member in cross-discipline integrated product teams to provide design solutions that balance performance, cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
  4. Provide analytical aftermarket support to maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) services.
  5. Develop and incorporate new ways to advance technology and improve processes as an individual and as a team contributor.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with minimum 9 years of relevant experience (or) master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with minimum 7 years of relevant experience.

Nice to have

  • Structural Analysis experience
  • Experience utilizing ANSYS or other FEA software.
  • Experience working in the Aerospace Industry
  • Strong mechanical aptitude to understand the interactions of complex assemblies and how to translate those interactions into sound analytical assumptions.
  • Previous gas turbine experience
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
  • Experience with software and programing languages. APDL, Workbench, ABAQUS, PATRAN / NASTRAN, MATLAB, VBA, Python, C++, Fortran, MS Office, NX Teamcenter and SAP
