Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of ~20 software engineers in developing unified infrastructure for Databricks Workspace, powering customer-facing capabilities like Content Discovery, Organization, collaborative code editing, and repository management. The role involves defining technical strategy, owning roadmap and execution, establishing engineering best practices, and collaborating across product and engineering teams to support the growth of agentic AI workloads and scale the customer base.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define and drive the technical strategy for the Workspace Platform, including building over 16 shared capabilities that underpin the entire Databricks experience.
  2. Own the roadmap, execution, and delivery for the platform, ensuring all team deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and timeliness.
  3. Establish and enforce team best practices for engineering excellence, including design reviews, code quality, testing strategies, and performance optimizations for high-volume distributed systems.
  4. Partner closely with teams across the organization, including those developing vertical product experiences (Lakehouse Platform, SQL Warehouse, AI/BI Dashboards, UC Platform) and core infrastructure, to ensure seamless integration and innovation.
