Senior Engineering Manager, Safety Platform

Lead engineering pods within the Safety Platform organization, driving the technical vision and execution for foundational systems that power every safety workflow at Roblox. Own the core safety platform end-to-end, including the Safety agentic platform—AI-powered systems that automate and augment safety workflows across detection, enforcement, and review pipelines. This role requires a leader with a strong platform mindset who can balance technical rigor with broad organizational impact.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead and Develop: Recruit, hire, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of exceptional engineers. Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive environment that promotes professional growth.
  2. Ensure Technical Excellence: Establish and maintain rigorous standards for technical quality. Ensure the team delivers reliable, scalable, and secure solutions in adherence to Roblox's engineering principles.
  3. Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, designers, and other key stakeholders to comprehend business objectives and translate them into robust technical solutions.
  4. Contribute to Strategy: Participate in the development of the overall capture and sharing strategy. Identify opportunities for innovation and expansion, and strategically prioritize projects that maximize value for our user base.
  5. Champion Continuous Improvement: Instill a culture of ongoing learning and improvement within the team. Encourage experimentation, knowledge dissemination, and the adoption of new technologies.

Required

  • Demonstrated experience as a leader of successful engineering teams responsible for building new product or platform features.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to deconstruct complex challenges into manageable components, coupled with the requisite project management skills to drive projects to successful completion.
  • A long-term strategic perspective, balanced with the practical ability to implement timely, short-term solutions to launch systems and gather user feedback, informing superior long-term planning.
  • Experience developing consumer-facing applications, supported by a strong platform-thinking mindset.
