Senior Field Applications Engineer

This role serves as a technical interface for AMD's commercial products, providing pre-sales and development support to end customers in India. The Field Applications Engineer will build technical relationships, demonstrate AMD technology's value, and offer post-sales support, troubleshooting, and technical escalations. The position requires a strong understanding of client CPUs/GPUs, platform architecture, and common applications on AMD hardware, with a focus on winning commercial client and workstation opportunities.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop technical relationships with target end customer accounts and OEM partners
  2. Win new commercial client and workstation opportunities by working with OEMs and end customers by establishing technical solutions based on AMD technology
  3. Work with AMD internal teams across AMD Business Units to build technical presentations and documentation to be delivered in the field
  4. For priority pipeline opportunities, work directly with end-customers to optimize workloads and applications on AMD-based commercial solutions
  5. Deliver technical presentations and sales pitches to influence new AMD sales with customers and partners.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering with 6+ years of experience, or advanced degree with 4+ years of experience
  • Technology related bachelor's degree or other technical discipline (e.g. Engineering or Computer Science) or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: CPU and system architecture, benchmarks, and platform enablement
  • At least 4 years of system architecture and/or platform development experience
  • Excellent problem-solving

Nice to have

  • Proficient in troubleshooting common client, and workstation applications and workloads on AMD hardware
  • Broad technical understanding of client CPUs/GPUs, and platform architecture
  • Specialized knowledge of microprocessor architectures, commercial ecosystem environments including Operating systems (Windows, Linux), compilers, drivers, benchmarks, and targeted applications
  • Solid understanding of the competitive landscape
