Senior Field Engineer role focused on partnering with clients to implement industrial digitalization solutions, leveraging AI agents and Cognite's platform. The role involves client engagement, agentic solution development, technical representation, and acting as a bridge between field learnings and product innovation. Requires hands-on experience in the industrial vertical, with GenAI landscape understanding, Python proficiency, and full-stack solution engineering capabilities.

What you'd actually do

  1. Partner with Account Executives to prioritize strategic opportunities and act as the technical lead for complex engagements.
  2. Lead the design and implementation of first-of-their-kind industrial agents.
  3. Lead use case workshops and briefings, translating functional and non-functional requirements into deliverable high-level use cases.
  4. Act as the critical bridge between the field and Cognite’s Product organization.

Skills

Required

  • Industrial Vertical experience (Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals)
  • 3+ years in forward deployed engineering/pre-sales engineering or technical software development
  • Hands on keyboard problem solving
  • Python proficiency
  • GenAI landscape understanding (embeddings, RAG, prompt chaining)
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

Nice to have

  • Education or experience in the industrial space (e.g., Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, or Control System Engineering)
  • Previous customer facing or sales experience
  • Experience with 'messy' real-world variables from Energy, Oil and Gas, Chemicals, Life Sciences, Discrete industries
  • Experience bridging traditional heavy industry and Autonomous Operations
