Senior Field Specialist (field Service Engineer/laser)

This role provides on-site technical product services, including installations, upgrades, preventative maintenance, and repairs for medical device equipment, primarily lasers, to support sales teams and customers. The candidate must have a valid driver's license, be able to work remotely with significant travel, and possess strong technical and customer service skills.

What you'd actually do

  1. Installs, services, and repairs medical device equipment in external facilities to support sales team and customers.
  2. Functions as a primary resource for stakeholders.
  3. Provides frequent status updates and documented service reports to stakeholders.
  4. Operate efficiently to conclude all on site installation, repair, maintenance, and test activities to factory specifications and perform other additional duties or projects as assigned.
  5. Ensures that installation, maintenance, and other necessary work is completed on time.

Skills

Required

  • Computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Office, Tableau, and similar software applications.
  • Experience using standard electronic/laser tools and test equipment, DMM, oscilloscopes, power meters and sensors, and pressure meters.
  • Maintains healthcare vendor credentialing as an employee for J&J Vision.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Written and verbal communication skills to understand issues customers have and to explain technical information to customers in clear terms.
  • Problem-solving skills to diagnose problems with malfunctioning equipment.
  • Time-management skills to handle appointments efficiently and stay on schedule.
  • Attention to detail spot issues and complete accurate reports about the repairs.
  • Organizational skills to keep tools and paperwork organized while in the field.
