This role is for a Senior Finance Manager at Microsoft, focusing on financial planning and analysis for the Security Investment Optimization team, which supports Microsoft's AI and Cloud strategy. The position involves partnering with engineering and finance leaders to drive business health, financial planning, performance management, and reporting for security people investments. The role requires strong analytical, forecasting, and communication skills, with an emphasis on enabling profitable growth and AI leadership within the security domain.

What you'd actually do

  1. Partner with engineering and broader finance organization to understand people investments, expenses and headcount results and trends. Communicate insights in a simple and concise manner regarding the state of the business to key stakeholders. Generate actionable plans based on complex results and ambiguous findings. Implement creative ways to show patterns and draw conclusions to help drive decisions.
  2. Develop and review multi-year time horizon long range financial spend plans.
  3. Business planning and forecasting - Develop and review target setting, forecast and budget models incorporating insights, risk, and opportunities. Ensure consistency in methodologies and assumptions. Improve forecast accuracy.
  4. Own, drive and innovate efficient financial rhythms and reporting. Conceptualize and design new approaches to how financial data is collected and evaluated to impact future outcomes and decisions. Understand the interconnections between data, information, and results and translate into forward looking narratives and forecasts.
  5. Establish trusted partnerships with and take shared responsibility for driving business outcomes (profitable growth, market share, AI leadership). Apply understanding of the broader Microsoft context and external market trends to offer impactful solutions to ensure business objectives are met.

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.
