Senior Finance Systems Engineer responsible for managing and improving the revenue system landscape, including updates, integrations, and compliance with financial reporting and SOX requirements. This role involves system administration, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and documentation within a hyper-growth environment, with a focus on systems like Zuora.

What you'd actually do

  1. Developing a deep understanding of the end-to-end B2B & B2C revenue system landscape and triage all major changes to any of these systems or related integrations
  2. Oversee the ongoing system and process improvement projects across various stakeholders including Revenue Platform Engineering, Finance Data Platform, Business Data Platform and the Finance Revenue Operations teams, as well as external vendors that Canva works with (E.g. Zuora)
  3. Stay up-to-date with any changes in the revenue system landscape and assist the Finance team in managing any impacts on the systems or the underlying business logic to financial reporting
  4. Assist the Finance team in implementing ongoing system monitoring controls (SOX & ITGC) and audits to ensure data accuracy, compliance, and adherence to established policies and procedures
  5. Perform investigations related to troubleshooting and technical root cause analysis in collaboration with various stakeholders to provide permanent solutions

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years experience in financial systems management supporting the revenue recognition domain
  • Experience managing systems across the lifecycle of concept development, design, integration, test, maintenance and retirement of established revenue systems, preferably Zuora and/or equivalent systems (E.g. SAP, NetSuite, Salesforce)
  • Experience in implementing revenue systems and integrations with third-party systems and tools, such as automation and data warehouses
  • Experience providing revenue system administration and support, including troubleshooting technical issues and optimising system performance
  • Proficiency in producing SQL scripts and use other data analytical software tools to investigate data and gather relevant information
  • Solid knowledge of the revenue recognition process and applicable accounting standards such as IFRS 15/ ASC 606, along with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Nice to have

  • past experience in a public company or SOX environment is highly desirable
  • Ability to operate and be successful in high growth B2B and B2C environments, and thrive on problem solving and dealing with ambiguity, willing to get your hands dirty when needed. Be comfortable with chaos.
