This role is for a Senior Financial Analyst who will be responsible for driving financial performance and shaping key business decisions. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional leaders to develop financial models, provide insights, and influence strategic initiatives. Key responsibilities include financial modeling, business insights and SaaS metrics analysis, cash projections, reporting, cross-functional partnership, and supporting strategic initiatives. The role requires 3-5 years of experience in a related analytical field, strong financial modeling expertise, and excellent analytical and communication skills. A key requirement for all roles at ThoughtSpot is AI literacy and the ability to integrate AI tools into daily workflows for productivity and quality.

What you'd actually do

  1. Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain advanced 3-statement financial models (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow) to support company-wide multi-year planning, scenario analysis, and strategic decision-making.
  2. Business Insights & SaaS Metrics: Build and refine integrated financial models for ARR, ACV, and Renewals, leveraging sales capacity planning and other key SaaS metrics to project business performance and optimize growth.
  3. Cash Projections: Lead the development and continuous refinement of cash flow forecasts, providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making and effective management of the company’s short-term and long-term cash position.
  4. Reporting & Business Insights: Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages for leadership, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities. Support board-level materials, investor updates, and key internal reporting. Track SaaS KPIs (ARR, churn, pipeline health, CAC, payback periods, margin trends, etc.) and deliver actionable insights.
  5. Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with Finance, Sales, Marketing, Product, Revenue Operations, and department leaders to align budgets, forecasts, and strategic initiatives, ensuring efficient resource allocation and operational efficiency.

Skills

Required

  • 3-5 years of experience in Corporate Development, Equity Research, FP&A, Strategy, Consulting, Investment Banking, or a related analytical field (SaaS experience a strong plus).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline.
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced financial modeling, including building and managing complex 3-statement models (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) from scratch.
  • Strong technical expertise in financial modeling and forecasting, with a keen analytical eye for building integrated models from scratch (in Excel, Google Sheets or other planning applications)
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights that drive business decisions.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation abilities, with the ability to distill complex financial data for senior leadership.
  • A collaborative mindset and experience partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful financial insights.
  • A results-oriented professional with a high ownership mentality who is proactive, curious, and eager to drive continuous improvements and optimize financial processes in a scaling environment.
  • Comfortably and confidently integrate artificial intelligence into their daily workflow to increase productivity and quality.
  • Hands-on experience to leverage AI tools (industry-leading LLMs) to increase productivity, automate routine tasks, and improve work quality.
  • Speak to the experience of using AI for research, content creation, and document summarization while maintaining ownership of judgment and final decisions.
