Senior Firmware Engineer - Lpu

NVIDIA NVIDIA · Semiconductors · Santa Clara, CA

Senior Firmware Engineer responsible for the full development cycle of low-level firmware for NVIDIA's AI-accelerator hardware, including bootloader, drivers, RTOS, and application-level services. The role involves technical leadership, mentoring, translating requirements into specifications, optimizing performance, and collaborating with hardware and software teams.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as the primary technical authority for firmware across the product stack (bootloader, drivers, RTOS, application‑level services), providing vision and setting standards.
  2. Conduct regular build reviews, pair-programming sessions, and technical talks to lift up the team and mentor junior engineers.
  3. Translate Product Requirement Documents into detailed firmware specifications, architecture diagrams, and interface contracts.
  4. Lead detailed profiling, optimization, and validation of latency-critical paths to ensure flawless performance and reliability.
  5. Collaborate closely with hardware, silicon, system-software, and AI-software teams to co-design interfaces and drive integration-test strategies.
