Senior Fix Onboarding Specialist - Java / Python Lead Software Engineer

Lead the onboarding of clients using the Financial Information Exchange (FIX) protocol for JPMorgan Chase's CIB Equities LOB. This role involves technical leadership in client integration, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of FIX connections, while also driving the adoption and governance of AI-assisted engineering practices to enhance the software development lifecycle.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the onboarding process for new clients and partners, ensuring a seamless integration with our trading systems.
  2. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the onboarding process, providing technical support and guidance.
  3. Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, technology, and operations, to ensure all client requirements are met.
  4. Configure and test FIX connections to ensure they meet client specifications and industry standards.
  5. Drives adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, incident/root-cause analysis), while establishing measurable validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of proven patterns and automation within the SDLC/TLM toolchain.

Skills

Required

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience
  • Strong understanding of the FIX protocol and electronic trading systems.
  • Demonstrated experience leading effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching senior engineers/leads on compliant usage patterns and controls.
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
  • Practical cloud native experience
  • Experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Java) for automation and testing.

Nice to have

  • Certification in FIX protocol or related areas is a plus.
