Senior FP&A Analyst role focused on financial planning and analysis for revenue-generating contracts in a defense technology company. The role involves owning financial visibility, forecasting, and analysis of contract performance, partnering with program management and other stakeholders to ensure financial objectives are met.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own financial tracking and analysis for revenue-generating contracts, including FFP, T&M, and % complete structures
  2. Develop and maintain contract-level financial models, including revenue, cost, and gross margin forecasts
  3. Build and manage EACs (Estimate at Completion) and ETCs (Estimate to Complete) across programs
  4. Partner closely with Program Managers to understand execution status, risks, and key milestones
  5. Analyze gross margin performance, identifying key drivers such as labor utilization, material costs, scope changes, and rate variances

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A, program finance, project finance, or related analytical roles
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Experience working with or supporting contract-based revenue (e.g., FFP, T&M, % complete)
  • Proven ability to partner with cross-functional stakeholders and influence decision-making with data
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear insights
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced environments with evolving priorities and multiple workstreams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

Nice to have

  • Experience with government contracts, defense, or aerospace programs
  • Familiarity with revenue recognition principles (ASC 606), especially % complete / cost-to-cost methods
  • Experience with COGS and gross margin modeling at a program or contract level
  • Experience at a manufacturing company
  • Exposure to ERP and financial planning systems (e.g., NetSuite, Foundry, or similar)
  • Experience building financial processes or reporting frameworks from the ground up
