Senior FPGA Design Engineer role focused on developing electronics for defense system products, including architecture, design, and documentation of firmware and FPGA embedded processing. Requires experience with major FPGA vendors, VHDL/Verilog, and digital design principles.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop FPGA designs for all major vendors and device families including Xilinx (AMD), Altera (Intel), and Microchip
  2. Implement designs using VHDL for the following applications: gigabit serial interfaces, Radio Frequency (RF) DSP, controls, data links, embedded processing, and processor interfaces
  3. Work with circuit card designers and systems engineers to develop requirements, architect new designs, collaboratively model algorithms, partition and perform code development, simulation, and implementation
  4. Verify designs against requirements using both directed test and constrained random test methodologies
  5. Provide design support from requirements definition through integration and test, including design documentation and configuration management
