About the Role
We build the intelligence layer that sits on top of Verkada's cameras. Our work spans motion and trajectory search, person re-identification, live activity timelines, license plate recognition, and dashboards for occupancy and queue analytics. If you've ever wondered how a security team spots a trend across hundreds of cameras in seconds, that's us.
We operate like a startup within a startup, with real ownership and autonomy over our product area. The data we surface is complex, but our job is to make it feel obvious. You'll work closely with backend and ML engineers to build real-time, data-intensive experiences that live at the edge of what's technically possible, and make them feel effortless.
Who You Are
- Genuinely excited by the challenge of making dense, real-time data feel intuitive to users
- You think about delivering best-in-class product experiences, not just shipping features
- You can take a loosely defined problem and own it end-to-end, from early design to production
- BS or graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
What You Bring
- 4+ years of frontend engineering experience with a track record of shipping meaningful products
- Deep proficiency in React and modern TypeScript
- Experience building real-time or data-intensive UIs: dashboards, timelines, maps, or video-adjacent interfaces
- Strong optimization instincts: virtualization, debouncing, rendering optimization
- Experience driving technical direction on projects and collaborating cross-functionally
- Ownership mentality; you resolve problems that go beyond your immediate scope

Annual Pay Range
At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate's skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of restricted stock units (RSUs)
Below is the annual on-target earnings (OTE) range for full-time employees for this position, comprised of base compensation and commissions (if applicable).
