Due to the development of John Deere Polska Business Service Center in Poznań we are currently seeking candidates for the position of:
Senior General Ledger Accountant
Poznań, Poland
Your responsibilities:
- Act as the main accounting contact for the unit, ensuring accurate and timely monthly financial results.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
- Perform balance sheet including month‑to‑month and YTD variance analysis.
- Prepare, review and approve recurring and non‑recurring journal entries (e.g. accruals, intercompany, fixed assets, inventory, impairments).
- Identify and resolve accounting issues promptly to meet closing deadlines.
- Cooperate with internal stakeholders as well as internal and external auditors.
- Coordinate the work of accountants during month‑end close, ensuring timely execution based on the closing schedule.
- Drive standardization, process improvements and transition initiatives within accounting.
- Support the manager and team in day‑to‑day operations and current priorities**.**
Our requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in General Ledger with different areas or in management/statutory accounting in a multinational environment.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
- Very good command of English (written and spoken).
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (e.g. pivot tables, lookups).
- University degree in Finance, Accounting or completed accounting course.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate tasks across teams.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and solution‑oriented mindset.
- Well‑organized, proactive and flexible, with strong communication and stakeholder focus.
