Senior Global Trade Compliance Manager

Lime is seeking a Senior Global Trade Compliance Manager to lead the development and execution of the company’s international trade compliance program. This role involves ensuring compliance with global import/export regulations, managing regulatory risk, and building scalable compliance processes for the cross-border movement of vehicles, batteries, parts, and technology. Responsibilities include HS classification, dangerous goods compliance, export controls, restricted party screening, and advising on trade compliance requirements for market entry and financial planning.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, implement, and continuously improve a global trade compliance program aligned with high-growth, multi-market operations
  2. Ensure compliance with import/export regulations across key regions (e.g., EU, US, APAC), including customs, sanctions, and export controls
  3. Classify micromobility products (e-scooters, e-bikes, IoT devices, spare parts, and lithium-ion batteries) using HS codes and determine duties and tariffs
  4. Oversee compliance related to the international movement of lithium-ion batteries, including hazardous materials (dangerous goods) regulations (IATA, IMDG, ADR)
  5. Manage export control processes, including licensing requirements for embedded software, GPS/IoT components, and encryption technologies

Skills

Required

  • Global trade compliance experience
  • Knowledge of customs regulations, export controls, and sanctions regimes
  • Experience handling battery shipments and dangerous goods compliance
  • Experience with HS classification, origin determination, and valuation methodologies
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth, and operationally complex environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic, business-oriented mindset
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management
  • High attention to detail with the ability to scale processes globally
